▌Equipment : Thermal Activity Monitor (TAM IV)

The Thermal Activity Monitor (TAM) utilizes precise microcalorimetry technology to measure heat flow changes in chemical reactions. We employ TAM for in-situ heat measurement during battery charging and discharging processes, which is highly beneficial for assessing battery efficiency and stability. This helps optimize battery design, reduce energy losses, and improve charging efficiency. The TA Instruments TAM IV is one of the core research equipment in our center, enabling research into battery safety mechanisms and a deeper exploration of intermolecular thermodynamic behaviors.

▲All TAM IV equipment is currently located in the basement E2-002 of the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The main unit of TAM IV can accommodate four sets of calorimeters.
